JEWELERY SELECTION
After thorough research, testing, and study we recommend curved barbells for initial navel piercings and externally threaded barbells for initial tongue piercings. Here’s why:
Rings vs. Curves
Navels pierced with a ring will often appear discolored, become irritated or inflamed and suffer through a longer healing time; the most common way of correcting these issues without losing the piercing is to remove the ring and replace it with a curved barbell. Why not do it right the 1st time? Curved barbells allow the body to move naturally without placing undue stress on a fresh piercing.
Internal vs. External
With oral piercings, there is a chance that the detached ball could be swallowed. If the ball is smooth, as it is with the 1st PIERCE externally threaded barbell, the ball will travel through the body without risk of complications; internally threaded barbells have balls with a threaded rod attached-potentially causing internal damage. The 1st PIERCE, One Step Piercing System eliminates the issue of exposed threads and the ball rods, putting customer safety 1st.
